Review And Opinions Of The Tablet Jusyea

Although there are not a few detractors of Chinese tablets, the truth is that they manage to fill a market segment that few renowned manufacturers cover: tablets under 150 $. Of course, you have to be clear that for 100 $ you are not going to find a tablet that goes like a rocket.

However, there is a market for these products, and they are the basic users, such as children or people who just want to read or watch odd movies for entertainment. In search of the best tablets for this type of user, we came across the Jusyea tablet.

Due to its great acceptance in the market and extremely low price ($130 at the time of purchase), we decided to test the J5 model in order to determine if it is a good option, and to what extent this device can be required.

We have been testing it alternately with other models for 3 months, and here we bring you our conclusions.

Jusyea J5 tablet at a glance

First of all, let’s see what we get when we buy the Jusyea J5 in terms of features and accessories:

Metallic finish and IPS panel

The J5 tablet has a beautifully finished aluminium casing, which you can choose from in deep red or grey. We have opted for the first option, and we wanted to include all the accessories to test them as well.

Distribution of the elements

On the front, we have the plastic panel as expected for the price, with IPS technology, which gives it wide viewing angles. As for the distribution of ports and slots, we have 1 USB-C, micro SD slot, audio jack and two speakers at the bottom of the tablet.

10.1-inch screen with 2-inch frame

Something that caught our attention is that the edges of the screen are approximately 2 inches, which subtracts from the total size of the screen, making it approximately 8 inches in size.

We say that it caught our attention because in the manufacturer’s photos, these edges seem to have been edited to make them look smaller. While we’re not crazy about these deceptive marketing strategies, it’s actually not a big problem in practice, and few users seem to really bother about how they use it.

Furthermore, in the Jusyea J6 model, which is similar in size and price, this frame size inaccuracy has been fixed, greatly reducing it.

HD screen resolution

In terms of resolution, we have a ratio of 1280 x 800 pixels that correspond to HD only: This allows you to play videos at 720p. already 1080p.

Quad-core ARM processor

We have in terms of processor, a Mediatek MT8389 with four Cortex-A7 cores with ARM architecture. It is a low-cost processor, whose power consumption should be reduced in small tablets.

It has a Power SGX 44 GPU, which we will see in other low-end Chinese tablets such as the Acer Iconia, and which does not really provide exceptional graphics power.

4GB of RAM and 64GB expandable up to 128GB

The configuration of RAM and ROM is 4 GB of RAM, while we will have 64 GB of storage, expandable via microSD.

Android 10.0 operating system

Being such a basic tablet, we are surprised to find quite up-to-date software. Although many devices already have Android 11, it must be taken into account that not a few are still marketed with Android 8 and 9.

Google GMS Certification

Although we already take it for granted, not all tablets have Google or GSM mobile services, including Huawei and Amazon. Therefore, it is worth noting that this tablet supports all the applications of the Google Play Store, and most of them are already pre-installed.

8000mAh battery

The tablet has an 8000 mAh battery, which, although it seems capable of providing autonomy of between 8 and 10 hours, is greatly affected by the little optimization of the components. But about this, we will talk in the analysis.

Analysis and performance after 3 months of use

Now that you basically know what the characteristics of this tablet are, we suggest you see our analysis of them for regular use:

Image and Sound Quality

The screen of our tablet has provided us with an adequate level of brightness and moderately saturated colours. Clearly, this brightness only stands out indoors, because, under natural light, the panel darkens excessively.

The sharpness is not one of its best points, especially because as we had already mentioned, we have an HD resolution, which means that when we get closer we see the pixels on the screen. Although this is not an inconvenience for watching movies or browsing, it may be less recommendable if we want to use it as an e-reader since pixelation will affect the definition of the letters.

On the other hand, the two speakers, although they are presumed stereo, have a very canned sound and not too loud. In any case, with headphones, we can improve the audio experience.

Performance

As we had already mentioned, the SoC of this tablet presents a very basic low-cost architecture for tablets. Therefore, we did not expect great performance in complicated tasks. However, the Jusyea J5 has allowed us to perform basic tasks quite smoothly.

We have consulted and edited text documents (not very heavy), surfed the web and social networks, watched videos on Netflix, etc. Of course, despite the 4 GB of RAM, we will not have enough power to perform multitasking without lags occurring at some point.

That is to say: It is not a tablet designed for demanding games, high-definition videos or large loads of applications.

In addition, we have not had a very smooth experience in the reproduction of streaming content, since the tablet only has WiFi at 2.4 GHz. The positive thing is that Bluetooth 4.0 allows us to connect with the keyboard practically without spending battery.

Storage

There are more and more cheap tablets with a 4GB RAM / 64GB ROM module, which allows us to have adequate storage capacity. The same to installing apps as to copying movies or series and watching them offline. Note that they are 64 GB expandable by micro SD up to 128 GB.

Accessories

As we had mentioned, one of the great positive points of this tablet is not so much its performance as the general experience it provides, thanks in part to its accessories that make it a very convenient tablet for virtual classes and ZOOM conferences.

It includes a Bluetooth keyboard, wireless mouse, universal stylus, protective film, sleeve and OTG adapter . The high-end protective case fulfils its function of protecting the tablet, and also allows it to be placed at an angle of 130 degrees to use in combination with the keyboard.

The latter is well built, as is the mouse, although the latter can be a bit small depending on the user’s hand. Of course, the pencil is not capacitive, much less, it is a standard pen whose back part incorporates a rubber tip:

So it’s not a high-precision product, but it will do for basic drawing strokes, and for selecting in more detail on the screen.

Autonomy

The 8000 mAh battery has actually given us at most 5 hours of autonomy in common tasks, not even continuous video playback . This can be attributed to the poor optimization of the components in conjunction with the size of the screen, and the use of wireless components.

Charging takes between 2 and 2.5 hours to complete, which is not a minimum time but is to be expected in this price range.

Our evaluation of the Jusyea J5 tablet vs. Jusyea J6

The Jusyea J5 tablet, as well as its successor the J6, are low-end tablets with similar characteristics in terms of RAM, internal storage, camera features, USB Type-C interface connection, Android 10, etc.

The advantage of the latest model, the J6, is that it allows up to 8 hours of video playback, despite a smaller battery. And that it has a sharper and more precise rear camera, despite the fact that the 8 MP resolution is maintained.

In summary:

The Jusyea J5 is a good 10-inch tablet for very basic use, perfect for those who will give it a simple utility, such as checking email, storing data, using the simplest Google Play applications, browsing or watching some videos: Por We have included this as part of our comparison of cheap and good tablets in 2022.
